Ilana Degann is an actor, songwriter, and comedian from Los Angeles, California
Her latest single is available now
Ilana fell in love with performing in the 4th grade after begrudgingly joining a children’s theater at the request of her parents.
She continued performing through high school and college, throwing herself into improv, a cappella, Shakespeare festivals, plays, stand-up comedy, neo-futurism, and musicals. She had a taste of what a life in the arts was like and she knew that she never wanted to leave.
“I’m not trying to work any miracles, I just think everyone deserves a chance.”
-When We Were Young and Unafraid by Sarah Treem
Ilana loves to be creative in as many ways as possible. Because of this, she’s been drawn to art forms that allow her to both write and perform. She first fell in love with neo-futurism in college through a group called "Schrödinger's Cast: 30 Plays in 60 Minutes." She spent her junior and senior year as captain of the group and hopes to continue with neo-futurist work professionally. This style of writing opened up the floodgates, leading her down the path of songwriting, stand-up comedy, and sketch comedy. She also co-founded Doin’ It Onstage: University of California Irvine’s first undergraduate stand-up comedy performance group and was a proud member of Improv Revolution, spending two years stretching her short and long form improv muscles with 11 of the funniest people she knows!
